Frequently Asked Questions

Before The Session / Booking Process

How do I book a session? What is the booking process?

To book a photo session, please fill out the booking form. The first step would be to select a date and time that works best for both of us. If you have a date and time you’d prefer, please mention that in the booking form.

Once date and time are set, a photography contract will be created and there is a $50 non-refundable booking fee. The booking fee is applied towards your session fee. Remainder of payment is due day of your photo session. You will receive an invoice through your email and can pay securely online.

What if it rains / the weather is not good for an outdoor session?

We will double check on the weather a few days prior to your session. If the weather in not ideal for the session, we will try to reschedule the session (for outdoor sessions).

How do you set a date for a newborn photo session?

Newborn sessions are booked around a week after your due date. If your baby is born early or late, we can adjust the date/time of your session so that we are still within 2 weeks of age. I only pre-book up to 3 newborn sessions per week, this gives me flexibility for all those early and late babies.

When should you book a newborn session?

Newborn sessions can be pre-booked up to 4 months in advance. This guarantees a spot for you in my calendar and locks your price.

When should you book your maternity photo session?

Maternity sessions can be pre-booked up to 3 months in advance. I recommend you book your session at around 28-34 weeks of your pregnancy. You want to be comfortable during the session and look your best. Check out the different packages, some packages include the use of maternity gowns. Check out the Gallery of maternity gowns available.

Preview and Download Galleries

When will my previews be ready?

Preview galleries are available within about one to two weeks after your photo session. I will go through all the images and pick out the best images from your session. An online preview gallery will be available, it will be password protected. Preview images contain watermarks, as these are just preview images, these images are not to be screenshot, you do not have copyright to the preview images.

When will the final images be ready?

Final edited images will be ready approximately two to four weeks after you picked out your favorites from the preview gallery. Please make sure to notify me after you have finalized your favorites. Each image is taken into photoshop for final editing, it can take from 5 to 15 minutes per image for final editing.

Can I purchase additional digital images?

Additional digital images are available a-la-carte at $20 per image or you may upgrade to the next package. Customized quotes are also available if you wish to purchase your full gallery. For family, milestone and senior sessions I do offer an option to purchase the ‘light’ preview images, the cost depends on the total # of images in your preview gallery.

Download galleries, things to keep in mind:

You will be emailed a download gallery. The gallery will be password protected. You may share the gallery with family and friends. You will have a few options for downloads. You can do single file download on a cell phone, these images are lower resolution: best for social media / keep on phone. Please make sure to download your full gallery in Full Resolution on a computer / hard drive. You will want to use the full resolution images for any printing.

Newborn Photo Sessions

What do I need to bring with me to the newborn session?

All the props will be provided for the newborn photo session. What you need to bring is baby’s formula if bottle fed, if you breast-feed and pump please bring some extra milk with you in a bottle. Bring extra diapers. Most of the sessions are quite long, bring a snack for yourself.

After you book your session, you will be emailed a very comprehensive guide on how to prepare, what to bring and what to expect during the session.

Can I bring an outfit for the baby?

If you have an outfit that you have purchased or someone has made, please share this information with me ahead of time. We can probably do one set-up with your outfit. If you share this information with me ahead of time, I can pull together other items to go along with it.

Special Requests

I will do my best to accomodate your special requests. Some of the special requests that I have done in the past have included images of babies with mom’s wedding dress, military set-up, firefighter set-up, doctor. Special requests need to be planned ahead of time.

About the Studio

The studio is located at 6910 Airport Hwy in Holland (same building as Biggby Coffee). I have full professional studio lights, this allows me to shoot the session no matter of the available natural light. (Natural light photographers, rely on natural light coming in from outdoors and in Northwest Ohio, especially through the winter months - that light is very limited.)
